POST-RACE QUOTES – TEXAS THOROUGHBRED FUTURITY – FILLY DIVISION
Kerwin Clark (Winning jockey, Janae)
"I spoke to Brandon earlier in the week, and he told me this filly was very fast even out of the starting gate. I didn't think she was that quick. I thought we might have a couple in front of us, but she broke well and was just tugging me around there. I'm just glad it was five-eighths and not five-eighths and a jump."
Brandon Jenkins (Winning trainer, Janae)
"We had a plan for this filly, and she's done everything we asked her. I want to thank Mrs. Susan. She believed in me and gave me these horses, and I really appreciate it. Sky's the limit.'
Susan Moulton (Winning Owner, Janae)
"The coolest part is all of us used to gallop at Retama. That's why we brought Kerwin in, and Brandon was amazing. He gets on all our horses. I've been out of this for a while, but I missed it, and this was a great way to come back. I've been pinhooking for a long time. The pinhooking used to support the racing, so maybe the racing will support the pinhooking now."
Richard Eramia (jockey, Ms Classic West 2nd)
"She ran a big race - couldn't hold on, but tried hard." |
