Prada's Bling Game Winner in 20th Valor Farm Stakes at Lone Star Park

Grand Prairie, Texas (Saturday, July 22, 2017) - In the first of four Texas-bred stakes on the Stars of Texas Night card at Lone Star Park Saturday, Adrial Gonzalez' Prada's Bling shook clear in the final furlong and held off runner up Zippit E in hot pursuit to win the 20th running of the $50,000 Valor Farm Stakes by 1 1/2 lengths Saturday at Lone Star Park.

Ridden by Iram Diego, Prada's Bling pressed the pace on the inside, stayed on the rail in the turn, and pulled even with the leader, Bethyl's Royalrose, at the quarter pole. Diego set her down in upper stretch, drawing clear inside the final eighth under strong urging.

Trained by Isai Gonzalez, Prada's Bling is a five-year-old daughter of Too Much Bling out of the Authenticate mare Kimbrell's Prada. She was claimed from Karl Broberg on May 31 at Evangeline Downs. She won that race by three-quarters of a length.

Fourth betting choice, Prada's Bling returned $13.20, $5.20 and $3.40. Favorite Zippit E, ridden by Brian Hernandez, was the runner up and returned $3.40 and $2.80. Kat's Infatuation, ridden by Richard Eramia, returned $4.20 for show. My Master Plan was fourth.

POST-RACE QUOTES - VALOR FARM STAKES

Iram Diego (Winning jockey, Prada’s Bling)

"I know her, and I took my time. The race set up perfect for her. I looked back and saw it was clear.  It made it easier for me to save pace."

Adrial Gonzalez (Winning owner, Prada’s Bling)

"We actually used to own this horse, and she was claimed for $25,000. They put her back for $15,000, so my brother and I packed our bags and went and got her. It feels great."

Brian Hernandez (jockey, runner up Zippit E)

"She was coming off her last stakes (at a mile) and just ran out of ground. Maybe she wasn't as sharp tonight, but still ran a good race."
