Shes Our Fastest Edges Away to Take the $50,000 Valor Farm Stakes Sunday at Lone Star Park

Grand Prairie, Texas (Sunday, July 14, 2019) - Seven fillies and mares competed in the 22nd running of the $50,000 Valor Farm Stakes at six furlongs on Sunday at Lone Star Park. Four of the seven tried to grab the lead in the early going, racing just heads apart. The wall of horses continued around the turn, where finally they started separating. Last year's winner, Brave Daisey with Sasha Risenhoover aboard, took a short lead in the stretch, with Shes Our Fastest, ridden by Iram Diego, coming fast to challenge. The two dueled, but it was favorite Shes Our Fastest that bested Brave Daisey by three-quarters of a length at the wire.

Final time for the six furlong race was 1:10.66. Fractions were :23.00, :46.10 and :58.08 on a fast track. Eurodevilwoman was two lengths behind the top two in third, followed by Dark Desert Wine, True Confession, Sing Prada Sing and Ima Discreet Lady crossed the finish 11 1/4 lengths behind the winner. There were two scratched from the race; Mary Jane's Double and Sassy Kenzie Girl did not participate.

Trained by Scott Gelner, Shes Our Fastest added $30,000, her share of the purse, to her career earnings, bringing the total to $238,110. This was her sixth win from 19 career starts and second stakes win at Lone Star Park. She won the Texas Stallion Stakes at the track last year.

The four-year-old filly by Oratory is owned in partnership by Mark Norman & Norman Stables LLC of Thomasville, Alabama. It was the second stakes victory of the meet for leading rider Iram Diego. He has a total of 56 wins so far at the meet.

Mutuels on the winner returned $4.40, $2.80 and $2.60. Brave Daisey paid $4.00 and $3.80, with Erodevilwoman returning $3.80 for show wagers.
