Owner Tom Durant Wins Record-Setting
31st Win of 2010 Meet on Friday Night at LSP (Grand
Prairie, Texas - June 20, 2010) - Tom Durant’s Street
Call, who won Friday’s eighth race, gave the Lone Star Park-leading
owner his record-breaking 31st win of the 2010 meet. Durant surpassed
the previous mark of 30 set by Heflin and Driver Racing, GP in 2007.
What makes the achievement even more impressive is that Durant
has won 31 races from 77 starts during the first 42 days of the
meet. By comparison, Heflin and Driver won 30 times from 91 starts
during a 67-day meet in 2007.
Durant, Lone Star Park’s all-time leading owner with 210
career victories, is 22 wins ahead of his nearest rival in the current
owner standings and well on the way to his seventh owner’s
title. He previously led the owner standings in – 2009 (26),
2008 (17), 2005 (18), 2004 Fall (8, tied with Michael Gill), 2000
(13), and 1998 (14).
Durant will have 18 more racing days during the 60-day Lone Star
Park 2010 Spring Thoroughbred Season to increase his season record
number of wins.
