Grand Prairie, Texas (Saturday, April 13,2013) - Lasting Bubbles, owned by Judy Peek and trained by Ken Peek won the 17th running of the JEH Stallion Station Stakes Saturday at Lone Star Park.

With Lindey Wade aboard, the five-year-old mare by Pulling Punches stalked the pace on the outside behind favorite Cowgirl N Up posting fractions of :22.37 and :45.20. Lasting Bubbles, with strong urging and under the whip, took the lead with a furlong to go and powered away to win the $50,000 contest for Texas-breds, three and up, by a margin of five-and-one-half lengths. Cowgirl N Up held on for the place, and it was another three-and-a-half lengths back to third place finisher, Im a Bear. The final time for the six-and-one-half furlong stake was 1:16.32

"She put me in a good position" said jockey Lindey Wade. "She ran the lights out."

"She's a very, very large athletic filly. We thought that if we could pressure it [the pace], she could conquer the smaller versions," said winning trainer Ken Peek.

Lasting Bubbles earned $30,000 for her win in the JEH Stallion Station increasing her lifetime earnings to $111,002. It was her fourth win from 11 starts. For those who invested, she returned $6.20, $2.80 and $2.60. Runner-up Cowgirl N Up returned $2.60 and $2.40, and Im a Bear paid $3.60 for show. Nurse Goodnight, Contucky Dirt, Patty's Pride, Triplemental, Circustown Rose, and Platinum Song completed the order of finish.

The 10th and final race on Saturday's card was declared a "no contest" after the gate partially malfunctioned inhibiting a fair and equal start for all contenders. All single race wagers were refunded fully.
