Newarcos Bambina Narrowly the Fastest Qualifier for $31,140 Fort Dodge Texas Starter Allowance Challenge at SHRP (Friday, June 26, 2009) - The trials for the $31,140 Fort Dodge Texas Starter Allowance Challenge were held on Friday, June 26. Newarcos Bambina emerged narrowly as the fastest qualifier among the three-year-olds going 350 yards, taking his trial in :17.96, just beating Majestic Crest's :17.961 time. Owned and trained by Jorge Haddad, the bay daughter of Newarco and the First Down Dash mare Los Alamitos went off as the $4.80-to-1 third choice in her trial and dueled all the way with Eye Zoom Too before pulling out a head victory over that foe. She was ridden to victory by Carrizales Santos. Below is the full list of qualifiers for the final, which will be held on Saturday, July 11:
