Ivansbay Emerges as Fastest Qualifier for $143,800 TQHA Sires' Cup Futurity at SHRP (Friday, May 29, 2009) - The trials for the $143,800 TQHA Sires' Cup Futurity (R2) were held at Sam Houston Race Park on Friday, May 29. Ivansbay emerged as the fastest qualifier among the two-year-olds going 350 yards, taking his trial in :17.539. Owned and trained by Frank Cavazos, the black gelded son of Brookstone Bay and the Strawfly Special mare Flyin Features went off as the prohibitive 1-to-2 favorite in the sixth of eleven trials and justified his odds with a dominating, front-running 1 1/2 length score over Six Toast to earn a speed index of 102. He was ridden to victory by J. R. Ramirez. Below is the full list of qualifiers for the final, which will be held on Saturday, June 13:
