(Thursday, May 21, 2009) - Sam Houston Race Park will host the $15,000 Towers of America Stakes this Saturday, May 23. As part of the extended 12-race card, the stakes race will feature several top American Quarter Horse stakes winners including Dashin Tres, Jess Flashy, Cash At The Line and Six Moons Streakin. The favorite is Dashin Tres (5-2), a three-year-old colt ridden by jockey Santos Carrizales and trained and owned by Joe Bryan Rangel. Dashin Tres visited the winner’s circle most recently in the $17,000 Manor Handicap at Manor Downs on April 26.

Six Moons Streakin (7-2) will also be a tough contender in the 550-yard dash.. The six-year-old stakes-only competitor has finished in the top three in his last seven races. He is trained by one of the top Park trainers, Bobby Touchet, and will be ridden by jockey Manuel Garcia.

The seven-horse field will also feature Mr Oklahoma Express, My Philosophy and Stone Star Jumper.

Saturday’s live racing event will be followed by a performance from the Verizon Wireless Concert Series on the Bud Light Stage with The Point Birthday Bash featuring A Flock of Seagulls, Gene Loves Jezebel, Dramarama and When In Rome.
