Streamlyner Wins the $109,500 Sam Houston Maiden Classic at Sam Houston Race Park

(Houston, Texas - Saturday, April 15, 2017) - Streamlyner was the fastest qualifier in the Sam Houston Maiden Classic trials back on April 1st, and he clinched the win in the $109,500 Maiden Classic tonight with Luis Vivanco at the reins. He was bred by Gilbert Morales and is trained by Jorge Barrera.

Friday, April 14 Recap

Sam Houston hosted eight 350-yard trials on Friday, April 14 for the $197,700 Sam Houston Derby (G3). The sixth trial of the evening produced the fastest qualifier when Dash Quick Perry posted an impressive gate-to wire debut under rider Francisco Calderon. Bred by Pete A. Scarmardo and trained by Leon Bard, the bay colt won his 350-yard trial in :17:356.

Irma Vargas' homebred Max (L) set the second-fastest time of the eight trials, winning the fifth trial race under jockey Manual Gutierrez in :17.421. He is trained by Rolando Almanza.  

Other qualifiers include One Sweet Merlot, So Rapido, and Master O Distraction.

AQHA Texas Distance Challenge

Solis Pro took the AQHA Texas Distance Challenge on Saturday night at Sam Houston Race Park under jockey Francisco Calderon. He was bred by Jerry Windham and is trained by Leon Bard.
