conclude its ninth Fall Meeting of Champions in style on Saturday
with a blockbuster Grade 1 doubleheader topped by one of the world’s
richest races for American Quarter Horses – the $1,053,912
million Texas Classic Futurity.
The 400-yard Futurity for 2-year-olds is the centerpiece of five
stakes events on closing weekend – two on Friday and three
on Saturday. In addition to the Texas Classic Futurity, Saturday’s
program will include the Grade 1, $318,593 Texas Classic Derby (3-year-olds
at 440 yards) and the $20,000 Burnett Handicap (3-year-olds and

Friday’s stakes doubleheader is the $15,000 Hipodromo de
las Americas (2-year-old colts and geldings at 400 yards) and $15,000
Joe B. Turner Memorial Stakes (2-year-old fillies at 400 yards).
