Sunday Features Both the Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Futurity and Claiming Derby at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Thursday, November 12, 2020) - Witness colorful breeds compete in the $67,170 Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Futurity (G1) and the $37,650 Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Claiming Derby at Lone Star Park on Sunday night. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. First race post time is 6:05 p.m. Twelve races are carded, so there will be plenty of hi-speed competition to see.

There are only five days remaining in our Fall Meeting of Champions. The track has gone back to 12 races per night for the remainder of the season.

Up first Sunday is the Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Claiming Derby. There were trials held on October 31, from which the ten fastest horses earned their place in this, the claiming derby final. Interestingly, all of the competitors in the trials were up for claiming price tag of $10,000, so if you claimed one that made the top ten fastest you not only got the spot in Sunday's Derby, you got the horse as well. One horse, Jess Cruzin, was claimed from the trials. He will run in the final for his new connections, trainer Oscar Nunez and owner Samuel Gaytan.

Here is the field in post-position order, with jockey and morning line odds, for the Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Claiming Derby, scheduled as race 10:
