Richest Race in Texas To Be Contested Saturday - Lone Star Park's Grade 1 $1,151,780 Texas Classic Futurity

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Thursday, November 12, 2015) - The 23rd running of the Grade 1 $1,151,780 Texas Classic Futurity, the richest annual horse race in Texas, to be run at 400 yards, caps a trifecta of stakes scheduled on the final 10-race card of the meeting Saturday. The Futurity is the scheduled ninth race of the evening. Post time is 10:03 p.m. (CT).

Also featured is the 23rd running of the Grade 1 $415,690 Texas Classic Derby at 440 yards and the 14th running of the $93,387 Texas Classic Juvenile Stakes at 400 yards. Post time for the Derby, the scheduled eighth race, is 9:37 p.m. The Juvenile Stakes is the scheduled for 9:11 p.m. It will run as the seventh race on the program.

As Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie's 18th Fall Meeting of Champions draws to a close, it's time to show our fans a little appreciation! Wrangler Racing Ace Martha Claussen Returns Saturday

Lone Star Park welcomes Wrangler Racing Ace Martha Claussen back to the track. She will be on hand throughout the evening sharing expert tips and advice on handicapping American Quarter Horses. Martha will be co-hosting a free handicapping seminar with Lone Star Park's expert handicapper Rick Lee on the first level of the grandstand. You can also catch her in the saddling paddock for previews on the Texas Classic Futurity, Derby and Juvenile Stakes. It all begins at 5:30 p.m.

End of Meet Champions To Be Awarded

After race two in the winner's circle, the track will award 2015 Champion Jockey and Trainer of the Meeting. The Champion Jockey honors will go to Ricky Ramirez. This will be the seventh riding title at Lone Star Park for Ramirez. He won previously in 2003 and 2008-2012.

Champion Trainer honors will be bestowed on Trey Wood. This marks the fifth title for Wood at Lone Star Park. His previous title years were 2009-2012.

The 2015 Champion Owner of the Meeting is too close to call. The standings currently show Johnny Trotter and Terry Stennett in a tie with six wins each, but with two nights of racing remaining, you can't count out John Boegner, who has five!
