Final Weekend of Live Racing on Tap as the 2014 Fall Meeting of Champions Draws to a Close at Lone Star Park
(Grand Prairie, Texas - Wednesday, November 12, 2014) - Lone Star park at Grand Prairie is hosting its final weekend of live racing as the 2014 Fall Meeting of Champions racing season draws to a close on Saturday, November 15. Here is a look at the weekend's highlights:
Thursday, November 13
* Live Quarter Horse Racing: Nine live races scheduled. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. First race post time is 6:35 p.m.
* Military Discount Day: Present your Military ID on Thursday, November 13 and receive one (1) FREE General Admission at the Admission Gates. Just present your valid identification at the designated areas at our entrances to receive your coupon.
* Senior Citizens' Day: Seniors 62 years or older will receive one (1) FREE General Admission at the Admission Gates on Thursday, November 13. Just present your valid identification at the designated areas at the entrances to receive your coupon.
* Pepsi Can Offer: Bring a Pepsi Can out on Thursday, November 13 and receive a Pepsi track pack, good for one (1) FREE General Admission and one (1) FREE large Pepsi. *Valid for live racing only in the Grandstand.
Friday, November 14
* Live Quarter Horse Racing: 10 live races scheduled. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. First race post time is 6:35 p.m.
Saturday, November 15
* Live Quarter Horse Racing: 10 live races scheduled. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. First race post time is 6:35 p.m.
* Free Handicapping Seminar: Q-Racing Ace Martha Claussen will join Lone Star Park track handicapper Rick Lee and Lone Star Park Announcer John Lies for a televised handicapping preview beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the first level of the Grandstand. They will discuss the entire card, with in-depth analysis of the Texas Classic Futurity and Derby. Claussen will remain in the Grandstand throughout the evening to answer questions from fans on Quarter Horse handicapping. AQHA will provide complimentary fan education materials and giveaway items.
* $69,771 Texas Classic Juvenile Stakes: Race seven is the Texas Classic Juvenile Stakes for two-year-olds at 400 yards. Post time is scheduled for 9:11 p.m.
* $291,868 Grade 1 Texas Classic Derby: The eighth race is the 22nd running of the $291,868 Grade 1 Texas Classic Derby at 440 yards. Approximate post time 9:37 p.m.
* $860,519 Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity: Race nine is the 22nd running of the $860,519 Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity at 400 yards. Scheduled post time is 10:03 p.m.
