Easter Man, Uptown Sandy Girl Win Divisions of the Grade 3, Alliant Insurance Services Arabian Stallion Stakes at Lone Star Park
(Grand Prairie, Texas - Friday, November 8, 2019) - Favorite EASTER MAN trailed the field in the early going, but near the half-mile marker under rider Carol Cedeno, he began to pass the competitors, picking them off one by one until taking the lead coming out of the turn for home. He was able to hold on and win the colt and gelding division of the $20,000 Alliant Insurance Services Arabian Stallion Stakes (G3). Final time for the one mile stake was 1:49.53.
PADDY DAY stalked the early leader KISSOUUR until passing him in the stretch, closing fast to finish a game second by a head. UPTOWN CRUISEDIRECTOR was third, followed by BELLFASTT, KISSOUR, HIGHH VOLTAGE and DAHESSTINY MD. RB FRENCHH DUDE and TTT BROTHER WHIZ were both scratched from the race.
EASTER MAN, a seven-year-old son of BURNING SAND out of ANGEL PROOF, by NF PROOF MS, is owned by Betty J. & Joseph A. Gillis. Winning trainer was Jerenesto Torrez.

Jon R. Henningsgard's UPTOWN SANDY GIRL, ridden by Jose Angel Garcia, was content to sit just off the pace in the two-path until taking the lead at the quarter-mile marker. It was no contest after that point as she drew off to win the $20,000 Alliant Insurance Services Arabian Stallion Stakes (G3) for fillies and mares by seven-and-one-quarter lengths.
Trained by Glen P. Rottweiler, UPTOWN SANDY GIRL is a five-year-old daughter of BURNING SAND out of WIBWILCCA, by WILKOLAK. This was the mare's eleventh win from 20 lifetime starts. Her earnings now total $192,580.
Favorite DANCE WITH ME BW, who raced on the lead for the first part of the race, wasn't able to hold off RB BLYIG and gave up place to finish third. The remaining order of finish was RISKY RED, followed by IRIDESSE, SLUFFYS GIZMO, WMA HOPE and MIZZDORA. |
