Charal Kid Favored In $25,000 B.F. Phillips, Jr. Handicap (RG3) at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Wednesday, October 26, 2011) - Malinche Cattle Co. Inc.’s Charal Kid, trained by Erika Huitron, has been installed as the 8/5 morning line favorite by track odds maker Rick Lee in the 13th Running of the $25,000 B.F. Phillips, Jr. Handicap (RG3) for accredited Texas-Bred three year olds and up, to be run at 400 yards, Saturday night at Lone Star Park.

A five-year-old sorrel son of Streakin LaJolla, Charal Kid, winner of the 2009 Grade 2, $202,200 Dash For Cash Derby at Lone Star Park, seeks to improve upon his record of 13 wins from 34 starts and earnings of $324,189. Jose Alvarez will be aboard.

The field from the rail out, with jockey and morning line odds listed in parenthesis, consists of: Shake Em Special Pop (Mario Trujillo, 12-1); Charal Kid (Jose Alvarez, 8-5); Ms Riptide (Rodrigo Vallejo, 3-1); Gallant Corona (Cody Wainscott, 10-1); Six Toast (Augustin Silva, 9-2); Chasing The Cheese (Russel Hadley, 12-1); Point of Deception (Adalberto Candanosa, 8-1) and Bar Winning Jet (David Pinon, 30-1).
