Jockey Gilbert Ortiz Completes Grade 1 Sweep Aboard Show Me Your Toole in Dash For Cash Futurity at LSP
(Saturday, October 25, 2008) - Show Me Your Toole, owned
by Good Ol Boys Racing LLC and trained by Toby Keeton, won the 10th
running of the Grade 1 $531,945 Dash For Cash Futurity, for two-year-olds,
over a fast track at Lone Star Park on Saturday night.
With Gilbert Ortiz, winning rider of the Grade 1 Dash For Cash
Derby earlier on the card, in the saddle, Show Me Your Toole was
alert from the break and quickly opened up a clear advantage on
his eight rivals. The Sorrel son of Jody O Toole never looked back
and froze the teletimer in 19.697 for the 400 yards distance to
earn a speed index of 99. Post time favorite Lethal Delight was
a head behind in second, and it was another head back to Vertical
Vision in third.
“He trained really good coming into this race,” said
winning trainer Toby Keeton. “The trial didn’t take
a lot out of him and he came back strong for this race.
“He left running and had a length on them right out of the
gate,” added winning rider Gilbert Ortiz. “They were
catching him a little at the finish, but he did everything right
tonight.”
In winning the Futurity, Show Me Your Toole earned his first Grade
1 victory while improving his record to four wins from nine starts
with the winner’s share of $212,782 boosted his career earnings
to $374,420.
Show Me Your Toole paid $11.60, $5.80, $2.60, runner-up Lethal
Delight returned $5.00, $4.40, and Vertical Vision paid $3.80 for
show. Double Chiseled, Miss Sin Tacha, Specially Alluring, Executive
Looks, Red Oak Special and Andorite completed the order of finish.
