Jc My Diamond Man Outlasts Six Rivals In Grand Prairie Classic
(Friday, October 17, 2008) - Jc My Diamond Man, owned by
Clem D. Nava III and trained by Brian Stroud, recorded his fourth
consecutive victory in winning the 9th running of the $15,000 Grand
Prairie Classic, for three-year-olds, at Lone Star Park on Friday
night.
Ridden by Luis Ramirez, Jc My Diamond Man dueled his way to the
lead around the turn and opened up a clear advantage in mid-stretch
before stopping the teletimer in :46.065 for the 870 yards distance,
earning a speed index of 88. The James Gerhards-trained Jack Pudding
put in a bold stretch run along the rail to finish second by a head,
and it was another three and three quarter lengths back to Snow
Me the Paddick in third.
“I was concerned that he might get a little tired through
the stretch because he hadn’t raced since August, and he did,
but he got away from the gate well and ran a nice race,” said
winning trainer Brian Stroud.
With the win, Jc My Diamond Man improved his record to 5 wins
from 16 starts and increased his career earnings to $29,181.
Jc My Diamond Man paid $5.40, $3.20, $2.40, runner-up Jack Pudding
returned $3.20, $2.40, and Snow Me the Paddick paid $3.40 for show.
Count Nix, City Dance, Streakin Totally and Mr Restless completed
the order of finish.
