The Stars Aligned, the Racing Gods Smiled, and It Was a Perfect Trip for Sf Hot Pass in the Refrigerator at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Saturday, October 13, 2018) - Francisco Calderongave an excellent ride on Sf Hot Pass ($15.40) to win the 22nd $75,000 Refrigerator Stakes (G1) at Lone Star Park tonight. The five-year-old gelding by Ivory James broke perfectly and took the lead for the entire 440 yards, crossing the finish in :21.198 seconds on a muddy (sealed) track. The time was good for a speed index of 105.

Favorite Eye N Capo did not have that luck tonight. Breaking from the gate eight, he was hit from both sides, knocking his hind end a good two feet to the side. The four-year-old gelded son of Capo de Capi was able to recover and really turned in a good performance to get up for place by a head. It was another head back to Apollitical Cyclone for the show. Valiant Rogue was fourth, followed by Kowboy Jim, Financial Top, Super Sonic Patriot, Fdp Rock Solid, Lightmeupwithcharm and finally Apollitical Scout.

Owned by Stormy Fisher and trained by Leon Bard, Sf Hot Pass won his second stakes during the meeting. He won the Nevill Stakes here on September 29.

The win was the fifth overall for Sf Hot Pass from 14 career starts. His earnings including tonight's win are $95,780.
