(Grand Prairie, Texas - Friday, October 12, 2018) - The field of 10 Paint & Appaloosa horses is set for the $57,725 Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity (G1), to be held Saturday, October 27. A total of 15 horses competed in two trials tonight, with the 10 fastest earning their spot in the final.

Kay & Dan Jones' Live Moonshine was the fastest qualifier from the two trials (race 5), completing the 400 yards in :19.974 seconds on a sloppy (sealed) racetrack. The paint gelding by Crm Livewire is trained by Matt Whitekiller and was ridden to victory by Cody R. Smith. Seven out of the field of eight in race 5 qualified for the final.

Favorite Rp Live Wire Dash won race 4 with a final time of :20.148 seconds, which would have put him in the final. However, he was disqualified and placed seventh after he bore out early in the race, impeding the three outside horses. Wired for Sound was placed first after the disqualification. Memories of Lil Hero was scratched from that race.
