Rich Kinkga Victorious in Fillies and Mares Division of Grade 3, $20,000 Arabian Stallion Stakes at Lone Star Park
(Grand Prairie, Texas - Friday, October 12, 2012) - Odds on favorite Rich Kinkga settled off the pace early, took the lead at the top of the stretch and drew away to a three and three quarter-length victory in the fourth running of the Grade 3, $20,000 Arabian Stallion Stakes, Fillies and Mares Division, Friday night at Lone Star Park. Owned by Rosebrook Farms LLC and trained by Randy Nunley, the four-year-old filly appeared comfortable and strong under a confident ride by jockey Martin Solis.
The Florida-bred daughter of TH Richie covered the one-mile distance in 1:48.91. Rich Kinkga has now won three of 12 starts, and the $12,000 winner's share of the purse increased her lifetime earnings to $57,409.
Pacesetter Lori Anne lost the lead at the top of the stretch, but held on comfortably to second six and a half lengths ahead of third-place finisher Well Liked, Dancelildiamond, Lil Rich Girl, Sand On Fire, and Rich Sister completed the order of finish.
Rich Kinkga paid $3.00, $2.10, $2.10. Lori Anne paid $2.80, $2.10 and Well Liked paid $2.40.
Status Symboll Romps in Colts and Geldings Division
Sharida Nasser Al Kaabi's Status Symboll was well placed behind pacesetter Pass Play, made a bid on the far turn, took the lead upper stretch to prove much the best in the fifth running of the Grade 3, $20,000 Arabian Stallion Stakes, Colts and Geldings Division, on Friday night at Lone Star Park.
Trained by Ken Danyluk and ridden by Santos Carrizales, the seven-year-old horse completed the mile in 1:49.28 over a fast track. The Florida-bred son of Doran Sbfar improved his record to eight wins from 44 starts and the $12,000 winner's share of the purse boosted his lifetime earnings to $85,090.
Golly Bred, winner of this race last year, finished seven lengths back in second, while French Fry, finished third by two and one-quarter lengths. TM Burning Bridges, Three T Tax Man, Pass Play, and Line Em Up Joe completed the order of finish.
Status Symboll paid $3.00 to win, $2.10 to place and $2.10 to show. Golly Bret paid $2.20, $2.10. French Fry paid $2.20 for the show.
Additional notes: The Janet Van Bebber trained Allure Sr, set a new track record of 16.484 in tonight's eighth race. The previous record time for 330 yards (16.540) was set October 21, 1999 by Jess Do It To It.
