Famous Little Reba Victorious in Photo Finish of Grade 1 $448,515 Dash For Cash Futurity at Lone Star Park
(Grand Prairie, Texas - Saturday, October 10, 2015) - After winning the previous race, the Grade 2 $194,100 Dash for Cash Derby, Johnny Trotter of Hereford, Texas returned for another win photo, this time with his homebred filly Famous Little Reba after winning the 18th Grade 1, $448,515 Dash for Cash Futurity at Lone Star Park Saturday.
The 400-yard contest ended in a three-way photo with Ferrari Gt and She Looks Racy, but clearly showing Famous Little Reba the victor by a nose. Final time was :19.705 over a fast track, a speed index of 94.
"It's hard to duplicate something like this," said owner Johnny Trotter. "We brought her down here, paid her late [supplement], and here we are."
Her third win from six career starts earned Famous Little Reba $179,410, boosting her bankroll to $187,230.
Famous Little Reba paid $18.20, $7.40 and $4.40. Place went to Ferarri Gt who paid $4.40 and $3.80, and She Looks Racy paid $4.00 to show. Volcom Flame, Js Abel Dasher, Dash Don't Cheat, Django B, Teves, and Sissy Cartel completed the order of finish. Nucky was a late scratch.
For jockey Ricky Ramirez, it was his second trip to the winners circle tonight, a graded stakes double.
This was also the second win in the Grade 1, Dash for Cash Futurity for both Ricky Ramirez and Johnny Trotter. They won the race with Dynastys First Call in 2013.
Bubba Cascio, trainer of the great Dash for Cash, the race's namesake, was on hand for the trophy presentation.
Satcha Wagoneer Wins the Undercard $49,835 Dash For Cash Juvenile Stakes
A filly by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, Satcha Wagoneer won the Dash for Cash Juvenile Stakes by a neck over a fast track. Final time for the 400 yard race was :19.814 earning a speed index of 91.
Winning owner was Double A Ranch of Doral, Florida. Winning trainer was Jorge L. Gonzalez, and winning jockey was Yordanis Amaro.
