(Grand Prairie, Texas - Wednesday, October 9, 2013) - Lone Star Park announced an increase of over 10 percent to Quarter Horse purses effective Thursday, October 10. The increase is to overnight races and will range from $300 to $800.

Track officials cited gains in attendance and handle as the source of the added funds.

"This increase in purses comes as a result of the great attendance and handle numbers we're experiencing this fall," said Lone Star Park President and General Manager, Scott Wells. "These are the world's fastest athletes and this is a great place to have fun watching them compete on a fair, even playing field."
