Eye N Capo Takes Charge to Win Easy in the 19th Edition of the $384,615 Grade 2 Dash For Cash Futurity at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Saturday, October 8, 2016) - Ruben Garcia Montemayor's Eye N Capo was ready and set when it was time to go. Breaking from the inside post, the two-year-old sorrel colt by Capo de Capi was first out of the gate, grabbing a half-length advantage at the first call. He went on to win the 19th Grade 2 Dash for Cash Futurity in dominating gate-to-wire fashion, finishing one length the best. Final time for the 400-yard futurity was :19.511, good for a speed index of 99.

Eye N Capo, now a perfect two-for-two, made his debut in the trials on September 24. He won his, the final trial of the night by 1 1/2 lengths. It was a powerful effort, and tonight was a repeat performance. Jockey Damien Martinez rode him to both victories. Winning trainer is Adrian Huitron.

Mutuels returned $$5.00, $3.40 and $3.00. Duponte placed and returned $3.20 and $2.60. Political Mess returned $3.20 for the show. Paint My Pilot, Katharsis, Carmel Diamond, Cobra Stone, Murcielago, Flyin Eagle and Strawflyin Tac finished in that order.

Now a graded stakes winner in just his second career start, Eye N Capo has earned $156,546.
