Ft. Worth's Bobby Cox Holds Strong Hands in Dash For Cash Futurity and Derby Saturday
(Grand Prairie, Texas - Friday, October 8, 2010) -
Chad Hart and Bobby Cox’s Jumpn Shake, trained by Benjamin Garza, will be looking to record his first Grade 1 victory in the 13th running of the $463,185 Dash For Cash Futurity, to be run at 400 yards, at Lone Star Park on Saturday night.
Jumpn Shake, a Sorrel son of Jumpn, was the fastest qualifier in the Dash for Cash Futurity trials with a time of 19.322 at Lone Star Park on Sept. 25 and will have regular rider Manuel Garcia up. A winner of six of eight starts, Jumpn Shake won the Grade 3, $167,050 Gillespie Futurity on Aug. 29 prior to qualifying for the Dash for Cash Futurity.
Dominyun, also owned by Fort Worth resident Bobby Cox, represents the biggest threat to Jumpn Shake. A sorrel son of Mr Jess Perry, Dominyun finished third in the Grade 1, $1.9 million All American Futurity at Ruidoso Downs on Sept. 6. Regular rider Russel Hadley has the mount.
Lone Star Park’s morning-line oddsmaker Rick Lee has listed the favored entry of Jumpn Shake and Dominyun at 1-2.

Scheduled as race nine on the 10-race program, the Grade 1 Dash for Cash Futurity has an approximate post time of 9:47 p.m.
Cox-Owned Entry of Sinuous and Zoomin With Ease Form Solid 1-2 Punch in Grade 2 Dash For Cash Derby
The Bobby Cox-owned entry of Sinuous and Zoomin With Ease, trained by John Buchanan, will look to tag-team their seven rivals in the 13th running of the Grade 2, $168,600 Dash for Cash Derby, to be run at 440 yards, for 3-year-olds at Lone Star Park on Saturday night.
A winner of three of 10 starts, Sinuous was narrowly defeated by the Janet Van Bebber-trained Acorn in the Dash for Cash Derby trials held at Lone Star Park on Sept. 24.
Zoomin with Ease has one win from 14 career starts but that victory was earned in last year’s Grade 1, $625,000 Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs in July of 2009. The sorrel son of Azoom is the field’s leading money winner with $359,352 in career earnings.
Also of note in the Dash for Cash Derby is the James Cordell-owned Ms Riptide, who is trained by Judd Kearl. A winner of three of 12 starts for $32,644, the sorrel daughter of Ocean Runaway recorded the fastest qualifying time of 21.588 in the Dash for Cash Derby trials.
