Lone Star Park's Friday Card Features the $20,000 Nevill Stakes and the $75,000 Arc Regional Distaff Challenge
(Grand Prairie, Texas - Thursday, October 3, 2019) - It's a stakes double-header Friday at Lone Star Park as the 12-race card features the $20,000 Nevil Stakes and the $17,500 ARC Distaff Challenge. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. First race post time 6:05 p.m.
Race 3 on the schedule is the $20,000 Nevill Stakes for Texas-bred Quarter Horses, three-year-olds & up going 350 yards. Last year's winner, Sf Hot Pass, has returned to defend his title. The six-year-old gelding by Ivory James also won the Refrigerator Stakes (G1) and the B. F. Phillips, Jr. Stakes (RG3) here last year, which earned him the 2019 Season Champion Honor.
Sf Hot Pass, owned by Stormy Fisher and trained by Leon Bard, has drawn the rail. Regular rider Francisco Calderon has the mount.

Arc Distaff Challenge
The $17,500 ARC Distaff Challenge for fillies and mares going 400 yards is the final regional distaff challenge race for the 2019 Bank of America Challenge Championships. The winner will receive an automatic berth to Bank of America Challenge Championships Distaff Challenge on October 26. The Championships will be hosted at The Downs at Albuquerque in New Mexico.
Morning line favorite, Jess Adalida, a four-yea-old mare by Jess Louisiana Blue, is coming off of back-to-back stakes wins inthe Selma Stakes at Retama Park in July and the French Quarter Stakes last month at Fair Grounds.
Jess Adalida is owned by Ruben Garcia Montemayor and trained by Josue Ponce. Victor Urieta Jr. will ride.
