A Dash For Cash Sweep at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Saturday, October 1, 2022) - The $426,500 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) was won by One Perfect Lady with Francisco Calderon in the irons, stopping the clock at :19.620 for the 400-yard contest.

The two-year-old sorrel filly by Bogart, out of a One Famous Eagle mare, The Perfect Eagle, improved her lifetime record to five wins from nine starts. With the winner's share of the purse, $170,600, One Perfect Lady has now banked $230,507 in her career.

Before the race, trainer Rolando Almanza was cautiously optimistic, saying, "If she breaks like she did last time, we will be okay."

Although the filly bobbled slightly at the start, One Perfect Lady put her head in front and would not be denied, winning the Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) by a length over Daddy Caliente.

After the victory, Francisco Calderon said, "You're never for sure until you cross the wire. They made a move on me at about halfway there, and she got another gear. It's just a blessing to be a part of it."

One Perfect Lady returned &31.20 to the winning bettors for a $2 win wager.

Dash For Cash Derby

The California-bred gelding by Favorite Cartel out of Amore La Blue, a Mr Jess Perry mare, cruised to an overpowering win under a ride from Francisco Calderon, covering the 440 yards in :21.339.

A $2 win wager returned $4.40 as Favorite Blues Man left the gate as the wagering favorite.

Winner of the TQHA Sires' Cup Derby, Kas Shes EC, was second, followed by Call Bounce.

Rolando Almanza is no stranger to big wins on Dash For Cash night at Lone Star Park. In 2018, he saddled Paint Me a Sinner, who won the Dash For Cash Futurity, as well as the winner of the Dash For Cash Derby, Eos a Political Win.

When asked about his sweep of the Dash For Cash races this year, Almanza said, "It's an amazing feeling. It doesn't get any better."
