Zoomin Racer Squeeze Through Inside Rail in Final Sixteenth to Win the Grade 3, AQHA Distance Challenge Friday at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Friday, September 29, 2017) - Ricky Ramirez, riding for owner/trainer Fernando Carrete, guided favored Zoomin Racer to an exciting 2 1/2-length victory in the $31,410 AQHA Distance Challenge (G3) Friday at Lone Star Park. Final time for the 870-yard race was :45.791 over a muddy (sealed) racetrack. Speed index was 96.

The winner broke last from post seven in the eight horse field but quickly dropped to the rail and began making up ground. He moved away from the rail coming out of the turn about three wide, then coming up behind horses moved back to the inside, finding the narrowest of openings as he skimmed through on the rail and closed strongly for the victory.

Mutuels paid $5.00, $3.80 and $2.80 for the winner. Longshot Aces Over Five was second and paid $25.60 and $11.40. Fire On the Fly was third and returned $2.80. Jessa Lil Rusty, Bet I Make U Famous, Cjs Rockhard N Ready, The Field Cricket, and Por Amor completed the order of finish.

Zoomin Racer upped his earnings total to $50,074. This was his fourth win from 14 career starts. He will advance to the Distance Challenge Championship (G1) at Prairie Meadows on October 14.
