One Incredible Hock is Top Choice in Dash For Cash Futurity Sunday, Trump My Record Favored in Derby at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Friday, September 25, 2020) - They're finally here - the $364,095 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) and the $135,700 Dash For Cash Derby (G2). Two weeks ago, 106 juveniles competed to score the fastest time hoping for a spot in the Futurity final, and 35 sophomores ran their fastest for a spot in the Derby final. The fastest 10 in each final will compete Sunday. 12 races are carded. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. First race post time is 6:05 p.m.

Regional racing publicist Martha Claussen will be joining Lone Star Park for interviews and racing insight on Sunday for the Futurity and Derby.

The slightest favoritism was given to Maria Gama & Hernan Medrano's One Incredible Hock at 3-1. This son of Kiss My Hocks got the luckiest of breaks to get in the final. He and a horse named Quick Return tied for the 10th and final spot in the futurity with a time of :19.903 each. Since there are only ten spots allowed in the final they had a "shake" to see who would get to go, and that's how One Incredible Hock made it. The sorrel colt is trained by Adrian Huitron and will be ridden by Nestor Duran. He will break from post 10.

Fastest qualifier Bad Monkey, owned and trained by Dean Frey, was made morning-line second choice at 7-2. The gray gelded son of Capo de Capi has won three straight leading into this.

The field from the rail out with jockey and morning-line odds, is:

1) Pops First Lady, Esgar Ramirez, 20-1
2) Rare High Dynasty, Victor Manuel Urieta, Jr., 20-1
3) Pyc Painted Streaker, Jose Ivan Martinez, 4-1
4) Onemoreandimgone, Luis L. Vivanco, 8-1
5) Fear the Dragon, Manuel Gutierrez, 9-2
6) Eyema Eagle, Froylan Tellez Ramirez, 10-1
7) Tee Brit, Jorge Javier Garcia, 20-1
8) Gym N Jam, Sergio Bacerra, Jr., 8-1
9) Bad Monkey, Benito Jude Baca, 7-2
10) One Incredible Hock, Nestor Duran, 3-1

The Dash For Cash Futurity is the scheduled 11th race. Post time is 10:45 p.m.

Trump My Record favored in the $136,700 Desh For Cash Derby (G2)

Gilbert Pacheco, III's Trump My Record is an outstanding three-year-old gelding by Apollitical Blood. After running second in the Dash For Cash Futurity last year, he went on to win the $1 million Texas Classic Futurity. He would have had a perfect record this year if not for hitting the gate and getting off last of the field from the start of his trial two weeks ago. He rallied for fourth and won a berth into the Derby final. Trump My Record's team, brothers Jose Sanchez III (trainer) and Eddie Sanchez (jockey), make a perfect threesome. Expect a top performance from them.

The field in the Dash For Cash Derby from the rail out, with jockey and morning-line odds, is: 1) Trump My Record, Eddie Sanchez, 7-5
2) Toreto, Raul Ramirez, Jr., 15-1
3) Wagons Dash, Everardo Rodriguez, 2-1 (Fastest Qualifier)
4) I Am Valiant, Jorge Javier Garcia, 20-1
5) Sensational Senator, Eleazar Rivera Hernandez, 15-1
6) Bp Apollitcalcess, Manuel Gutierrez, 20-1
7) A Painted Dynasty, Victor Manuel Urieta, Jr., 5-1
8) Swingin Good Reason, Rodrigo Sigala Vallejo, 30-1
9) Lovethewayyourun, Nestor Duran, 12-1
10) Kiss My Whuut, Luis L. Vivanco, 15-1

The Derby is the scheduled 10th race with a post time of 10:17 p.m. If this isn't enough racing action for you, there is also the Dash For Cash Juvenile Stakes, the ninth race on the 12-race card. This is for the second fastest group of ten from the trials. This bunch gets to compete for a share of $40,455. The juvenile stakes will go at 9:49 p.m.
