RC Me Leaving You Seeks Second Consecutive Victory in the $20,000 Nevill Stakes Saturday at Lone Star Park

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Friday, September 22, 2017) - Multiple stakes winner Rc Me Leaving You returns to defend his title and perhaps score his second victory in the 20th renewal of the $20,000 Nevill Stakes Saturday at Lone Star Park. The 350-yard stakes is the featured eighth race on the nine-race card Saturday, September 23. Gates Open at 5:30 p.m., and first race post time is 6:35 p.m.

Owned by Bennie & Terri Jeter of Alvarado, Texas, Rc Me Leaving You won both his starts here last year, both stakes races. He won the 19th Nevill Stakes in September and the 19th B. F. Phillips, Jr. Stakes in November. A win in Saturday's Nevill would make him just the second horse to win back-to-back editions of the race. First Class Fred won the 2011 and 2012 editions. A five-year-old horse by Coronas Leaving You out of the Streakin Six mare Sixy Bottom, Rc Me Leaving You is the morning line favorite at 9-5. His career stats are 22-5-5-7, with earnings totaling $161,662. Trained by Jimmy Padgett, Rc Me Leaving You has drawn the rail and will be ridden by Lone Star Park's 2013 champion jockey Rodrigo Vallejo.

Also entered is multiple graded stakes winner and 2014 AQHA World Champion Racehorse Jrc Callas First. The seven-year-old gelded son of Winners Award out of Callas Missy Jane, by Dirty Coup is winless so far this year, but he placed in both of his most recent attempts, the TQHA 550 Stakes in July and the Tower of the Americas Handicap in June. Both were at Retama Park. Jrc Callas First has amassed earnings of $628,267 for his owner, Ronda Tucker, of Pearland, Texas. His career record is 34-17-4-3. He is trained by Janessa Lee Muniz and will be ridden by Juan Francisco Garcia, Jr.

Trainer Leon Bard has two entered for owner Pete Scarmardo of Caldwell, Texas. Kid Can Dash and Dash Don't Cheat. Both are homebreds by Down N Dash. The first, four-year-old gelding Kid Can Dash, is out of Quickid Perry, by Mr Jess Perry, and the other, also a four-year-old gelding, Dash Don't Cheat is out of Special Cheat, by Jess Special. Both have won one race for the year. Dash Don't Cheat won his most recent, the TQHA 250 Stakes in July at Retama. Kid Can Dash won three races ago, a 400-yard allowance race at Sam Houston last April.
