Ss Classyjess Got Up Just in Time to Grab the $100,000 Nevill Stakes at Lone Star Park on Saturday

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Saturday, September 19, 2019) - It was tight between the top three finishers, but Edgar Rosales' Ss Classyjess ($11.00) showed the boys how tough she was. It was she, the four-year-old daughter of Rock Solid Jess, out of the Royal Shake Em mare High Class Broad, that had her nose in front at the wire in the $100,000 Nevill Stakes.

"This is the first time we've won something like this," said winning trainer Jose Carrizales. "We're just hoping it keeps coming like this."

American Hussle was first out of the gate but, with J. Ignacio Garcia aboard, Ss Classyjess was inches back in second place until the final yards, when she got her nose in front. Favored Mr Tereso just got up for place, and American Hussle held on for the show. Final time for the 350 yards was :17.591.

The win boosts Ss Classyjess's record to 26-10-7-4 and her earnings to $181,013.

The complete order of finish was Ss Classyjess, Mr Tereso, American Hussle, Easy Blinkers, Clever Seis Cartel, Mia Favoritta, Serendipity Rocks, This Is a Deal Too, New News and Fantasticazoom Jr.

Live racing resumes tomorrow, Sunday, September 20. Gates open at 5 p.m. First Race post time is 6:05 p.m. Featured are the Texas Arabian Oaks (G3) and the Texas Arabia Derby (G3).
