Streakin Illusively Wins Opening Night Classic Chevrolet Heartbeat of America Handicap
(Grand Prairie, Texas - Friday, September 17, 2010) - Five
Star Partners’ Streakin Illusively, trained by Judd Kearl,
earned his first career stakes victory in the 13th Running of the
Grade 3, $25,000 Classic Chevrolet Heartbeat of America Handicap
on opening night at Lone Star Park.
Ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo, the 6-year-old sorrel son of Streakin
La Jolla didn’t have an anxious moment after breaking well
and outrunning his eight rivals to the finish stopping the teletimer
in 17.491 for the 350 yard-distance, earning a speed index of 100.
It was ¾-of-a-length back to Heavy Croozer in second, and
another neck back to third-place finisher Ocean Fun.
“He ran super,” said winning trainer Judd Kearl. “He
broke well and ran away from them down the racetrack.”
With the win, Streakin Illusively improved his race record to
nine wins from 26 starts and increased his career earnings to $155,247
with the $14,250 winner’s share.
Streakin Illusively paid $5.60, $4.00, $2.80, runner-up Heavy
Croozer returned $3.40, $2.20, and Ocean Fun paid $3.00 for show.
Bar Winning Jet, Chasing the Cheese, Jc Ladies First, Opalesce,
Eye It Is, and Okasetti completed the order of finish. Heavy Croozer
and Chasing the Cheese ran as an entry.
