Grade 2, $450,000 Estimated Dash For Cash Futurity Trials on Saturday Have Drawn 105 Entries in 11 Races
(Grand Prairie, Texas - Friday, September 15, 2017) - Saturday night features a full card of 11 trial races and has attracted 105 two-year-olds all vying for a place in the $450,000 Dash for Cash Futurity (G2). The top 10 fastest times qualify for the final, which will be held on Saturday, September 30. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Post-time for the first trial is 6:35 p.m.

In race three, Jess Adalida, owned by David L. Martinez and trained by Antonio Delgado, Sr., has won her last three starts, each by margins of at least one length or more. Her most recent was a win in the Retama Juvenile Challenge at Retama Park August 12. In April, she placed in the West Texas Juvenile at Sunland Park. The daughter of Jess Louisiana Blue out of Wortherweightingold, by First Down Dash will be ridden by Luciana Duenez.
Race six has another Antonio Delgado, Sr. trainee in graded stakes-placed Ebrima, owned by Dimas A. Sanchez. Also a filly, the daughter of Captain Courage out of McM Don't Look Back, by First to Shine, has three wins and two seconds from five career starts and earnings of $108,546. Her most recent was a second in the TQHA Sale Futurity (G2) at Retama Park July 29. Cipriano Vidana will ride.
The seventh trail features the winner of the TQHA Sires Cup Futurity (G3) on July 1, Dashin Red Cat. The gelding by Red Storm Cat out of Dashin Chicks, by Chicks Beduino is owned by Douglas L. Granz and trained by Oscar Nunez. Jockey Gonzalo Gutierrez will be aboard.
Skip to the tenth trial and Ja Am I Blue. The colt by Jess Louisiana Blue out of Teki Cetan, by Strawfly Special, placed in the Sam Houston Futurity (G2) April 29. He is trained by Rolando Almanza for owner and local Grand Prairie resident Irma Z. Vargas. Jesse Levario has the riding assignment.
In the final trial on the card, race 11 has Sixes Flash, winner of the Firecracker Futurity (G2) July 1 at Delta Downs. Owned by Rancho Herradura LLC and trained by Erasmo Hernandez, Sixes Flash is by Streakin Sixes out of Viborita, by Shazoom. He will be ridden by Rolando Cabrera. |
