Judy Dian Emerges Victorious in $10,250 La Perla Paint & Appaloosa Stakes at SHRP

Houston, Texas (August 1, 2004) - A field of 10 competed in the 350-yard $10,250 La Perla Paint & Appaloosa Stakes on Sunday at Sam Houston Race Park. The winner Judy Dian is owned by Charlie T. Walker and trained by Bud Moore. Judy Dian completed the stakes in a time of :18.428 under rider Brian Green.

Comments from Bud Moore, trainer of winning horse, Judy Dian:
"She had some bad breaks in Oklahoma and just missed qualifying for the finals of those two futurities up there. It's kind of tough to beat those solid colored runners with all that Quarter Horse breeding in them. So, it was good to see spotted horses in the three top places."

On her next race:
"We'll take her back up for a stake at BRD (Blue Ribbon Downs) and then probably come back here for the Graham (Graham Farms Paint Futurity - G1) this fall."

On jockey Brian Green's performance:
"Brian banged his leg coming out of the gate and was limping back to the jock's room and didn't want to comment - other than to say, 'She ran a good race.'"
