Selma, Texas (May 14,2005) - It was a stunning performance for two-year-old filly Ace Crystal Charm Saturday night at Retama Park. Under winning jockey Juan Vazquez, the diminuative daughter of Shazoom exploded from the gate and drew away impresively to win the 350-yard race by 1 1/2 lengths over well beaten 2-to-1 favorite El Zapatista. The final time for the race was :16.80

“She loves Retama Park and is now two for two here," said her trainer, Frank Rairez. When told her speed index for the race was a remarkable 102, all Ramirez could say was, "Wow."

According to jockey Vazquez, the victory was as easy as it looked. He commented, "I knew when we broke well we were on our way."
