Due to budget shortfalls, effective immediately, the Texas Racing Commission will no longer mail licensing renewal notices to owners and trainers.

If you are not sure when your Racing Commission license expires, you may obtain licensing information from any Licensing office at any Texas racetrack or call the Austin office at 512-833-6699. Some applicants may also be eligible to submit an on-line application. You may also go to the Racing Commission’s website at www.txrc.state.tx.us for more information.

Eliminating these monthly mailings to remind licensees that their license is going to expire is one of several steps the Racing Commission is taking to reduce costs. The impact of the economic downturn and the 2008 hurricanes have caused a significant decline in the agency’s revenue from fees and parimutuel
wagering.
