(Austin, Texas - January 11, 2011) - The 82nd session of the Texas Legislature begins today, Tuesday, January 11, 2011. As the 2011 session of the Texas Legislature begins, members of each of the eight organizations comprising Texas H.O.R.S.E. - including the Texas Horsemen's Partnership - are receiving the first email communication entitled "Texas H.O.R.S.E. Today."

Included in the message, you will find background information on the coalition formed to create Texas H.O.R.S.E., the present state of the Texas horse industry, the competition provided by neighbor states, and general background information on provisions that have been agreed upon by all organizations as the legislative efforts move forward.

It is important that every horseman and woman read these communications and stay in frequent contact with your Senator and Representative by in-person meetings, phone calls, letters, and/or emails about the importance of passing our legislation throughout this legislative session.

The Board of Directors and staff of the THP will be working hard on your behalf, along with all the members of Texas H.O.R.S.E., to get legislation passed that will help the Texas racing industry.
