Horsemen's Capitol Visit Set for April
11th - We Need Your Help!
The Texas horse racing industry coalition, Texans for Economic Development,
has organized a visit for horsemen to the Capitol on April 11th in support
of HB 3326, the video lottery terminal (VLT) bill that has been filed
in the Texas Legislature. This gives horsemen the opportunity to walk
the halls of the Capitol and discuss the VLT issue with legislators. Horsemen
will meet early around 7 a.m. at the Doubletree Hotel Austin for a brief
training session before departing for the Capitol.
Now
that a bill has been introduced, it is very important that all members
of the horse industry show the Legislature how much support there is for
VLTs at Texas tracks.
Many horsemen are bringing one or two friends with them. While that
is not required, we would certainly encourage you to bring anyone you
can who is supportive of our bill. The more people we have at the Capitol
on April 11th, the bigger an impact it will have on legislators.
