The Texas Horsemen’s Assistance Fund, Inc. (THAFI) will conduct a health fair at Sam Houston Race Park on Wednesday, July 7, in the chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. The fair is for all licensed trainers and grooms and their immediate families, and bilingual assistance will be available.

Hearing tests and vision screenings will be conducted, and representatives from Gental Dental will be available. In addition, Corporate Wellness and Health will be performing lab testing at the fair that will include blood pressure checks, blood sugar level testing for possible diabetes, prostate testing for blood PSA levels, and cholesterol screening (with HDL and LDL readings).

In addition, Corporate Wellness and Health will be providing a number of new screenings. These include height and weight testing, body fat analysis, bone density analysis, and a Hepatitis panel test that will test for Hepatitis A, B & C.

For the third consecutive year, Jingles the Clown will be at the fair performing balloon tricks and face painting for the kids. Free ice cream novelties and popcorn will be available, and prize drawings will be held. Free gift bags will be given to the first 50 attendees.
