THP to Host National HBPA Convention in San Antonio from January 15-18

The Texas Horsemen's Partnership will host the National Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association's 2005 winter convention in San Antonio from January 15-18. This marks the third time Texas has played host to the National HBPA and its 32 affiliate organizations and the second time in five years that the event has been held in San Antonio. The host hotel will be the historic La Mansion del Rio along the banks of the riverwalk.

Saturday will include registration and a cocktail party, and the event will get into full swing on Sunday the 16th and Monday the 17th with a host of committee meetings and panel discussions.

On Monday night, the THP, in conjunction with Lone Star Park at Grand Paririe, Retama Park, and Sam Houston Race Park, will host a dinner dance for attendees.

On Tuesday, the National HBPA will hold its full board meeting. The convention will conclude at the end of the full board meeting.

Texas Thoroughbred HBPA board member John O. Roark is serving his second two-year term as president of the National HBPA.
