Manor Downs Is Off And Running!
Opening Weekend
The Manor Downs meet opened on Saturday, February 28, and opening day
brought out over 1,300 local race fans and participants to watch the first
mixed breed race meet ever held at Manor Downs in Manor, Texas near Austin.
Wagers were placed on both live and simulcast signals totaling over $200,000.On
Sunday, February 29, attendance was over 1,200, with those people wagering
over $170,000.
A total of 24 races were run on opening weekend, with 269 horses racing
at the track.
The first weekend's attendance and handle are a good indication that
the live meet at Manor Downs has been greatly anticipated by central Texas
horse racing fans. The second weekend was status quo.
March 6-7 Weekend
On a beautiful, sunny Saturday on March 6, over 1,350 fans again attended
Manor Downs, wagering over $205,000. On Sunday, March 7, the weather was
not up to par, but still over 1,100 attended and wagered over $165,000.
On Saturday, March 6, 13 races were run, while 12 races were run on Sunday,
March 7, with a total of 253 horses running at Manor over the course of
the weekend.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the truly dedicated racing
members of the Texas Horsemen's Partnership for making the first two weekend
of the Manor Downs mixed breed meet so successful and making us so proud.
We would urge each and everyone one of you to bring your friends and
invite someone different to Manor every weekend to introduce them to this
truly exciting and thrilling sport. We hope to see you at Manor Downs!

Maiden Allowance Finals
Manor Downs will conduct the finals for the 350-yard Manor Downs Maiden
Allowance this weekend. The colt and gelding division will be run on Saturday
as the 11th race, and the fillies will take to the track on Sunday in
the 11th race.
A total of 176 horses paid into the nine trials that were held on Saturday,
February 28 (opening day at Manor Downs) for the Manor Downs Maiden Allowance
(Colts and Geldings Division). The fastest qualifier coming into the finals
is Cash for La Jolla, running an 18.190 for owner Enrique Quintanilla.
Trained by David Salinas, Sr. and ridden to victory by John Hamilton in
the 8th trial heat, Cash for La Jolla won his trail by more than a full
length.
A Streakin La Jolla sorrel gelding bred in Louisiana by Lee Ray Hayes,
Jr., Cash for La Jolla is out of a mare by the name of Shirleys Dash.
The finalists will compete for a purse of $79,500, with first place bringing
home $39,750. Good luck to all the connections for the finals.
The finals of the colts and geldings division of the Manor Downs Maiden
Allowance will be race 11 at Manor on Saturday, March 13. Below is the

A total of 155 fillies paid into the eight trials that were held on Sunday,
February 29, for the Manor Downs Maiden Allowance (Fillies and Mares Division).
The finals will be race 11 on Sunday, March 14. The qualifiers will be
running for a purse of $71,900, with $35,950 going to first place.
The fastest qualifier coming into the finals with a smoking trial time
of 17.860 is Sixy Thru Traffic, owned by Euserio Huitron. The Dash Thru
Traffic filly was bred by L/J Farms, Inc. of Louisiana and is out of the
mare Sixy de Cash.
Trained by Joe Chapa and guided to victory by Randy Edison, the brown
filly earned a 92 speed index and finished powerfully to win her trial
by over 2 1/4 lengths.
