Lone Star Park will conduct a number of training races for Thoroughbreds and Quarter horses beginning on Thursday, February 1. Training race fees will be $30 per horse stabled at the Grand Prairie track, and $50 for horses stabled elsewhere. Training race fees must be paid prior to racing. Entries for each set of races will be taken from Monday through noon on Wednesday of the week of the races. The dates for the training races are:

Thursday, February 15
Thursday, February 22
Thursday, March 1
Thursday, March 15

Races will begin at 11:30 a.m., and the track will close for regular training at 11:00 am on race days.

Race distances will be two furlongs for Thoroughbred two year olds, four furlongs for older Thoroughbreds, and 220 yards for Quarter Horses. Thoroughbred races will be run first.

Horsemen are required to have a copy of each horses' foal certificate on file in the Lone Star Park racing office in order to have the horse's work published.

Each trainer is responsible for paying his or her own rider and pony person. Trainers are also responsible for heading his or her horses in the starting gate.
