Post Times, Races Set for Lone Star Park
Spring Thoroughbred Season The first live race for Lone Star
Park at Grand Prairie's 10th Spring Thoroughbred Season will be 6:35 p.m.
CT on weeknights and 1:35 p.m. CT on weekends and holidays. The lone exceptions
will be special 5 p.m. CT post times on Sunday, July 2 and Monday, July
3 due to the post-race Lone Stars and Stripes Fireworks Celebrations.
The 66-date meeting will commence Thursday, April 13 and continue for
15 weeks through Sunday, July 23.
Racing will be conducted five days a week (Wednesday-Sunday) through
May 21 and four days a week (Thursday-Sunday) thereafter. Special holiday
programs are scheduled for Monday, May 29; Monday, July 3; and Tuesday,
July 4. There will be no live racing (simulcast wagering only) most Mondays
and Tuesdays, as well as Thursday June 1 and Thursday, July 6.
Nine live races will be staged on the Wednesday and Thursday night programs
(6:35-10:19 p.m. CT) and 10 races are scheduled for Fridays (6:35 p.m.-10:47
p.m. CT). A special 10-race card on opening night is the lone exception
(6:35 p.m.-10:19 p.m. CT).
Most Saturday programs will feature 11 live races (1:35-6:15 p.m. CT),
but a dozen are scheduled on the Triple Crown dates (1:35-6:43 p.m. CT):
May 6 (Kentucky Derby), May 20 (Preakness Stakes) and June 10 (Belmont
Stakes). Sunday cards will feature nine races through May 28 (1:35-5:19
p.m. CT) and 10 thereafter (1:35-5:47 p.m. CT). The lone exception will
be an 11-race card on closing day (1:35-6:15 p.m. CT).
The eighth annual Lone Star Million program on Memorial Day, May 29 will
feature 11 races (1:35-6:15 p.m.). Ten races are scheduled for the holiday
cards on July 3 (5-9:36 p.m. CT) and July 4 (1:35-5:47 p.m. CT).
All told, 656 races are scheduled for the meet.
