(Grand Prairie, Texas - Tuesday, September 10, 2013) - Come see the world's fastest athletes compete as Lone Star Park's 2013 Fall Meeting of Champions for American Quarter Horses begins Friday, September 13 and runs through Saturday, November 9.

A total of 15 stakes races worth an estimated $2.4 million including five Grade 1 races, one Grade 2 and three Grade 3 races will be run during the 26-day meet. Live racing will be held every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night after the opening weekend. Gates open each scheduled race night at 5:30 p.m. with a first race post time of 6:35 p.m.

Opening night, Friday, September 13, the stakes action kicks off with the $20,000-guaranteed, Nevill Document Solutions Stakes for Texas-Breds, three-year-olds & upward going 350 yards.

The signature event of the track's 17th fall season is the $1 million-estimated, Texas Classic Futurity (G1), the richest horse race run annually in the state, and will run Saturday, November 9. The $400,000-estimated, Texas Classic Derby (G1) and the $80,000-estimated, Texas Classic Juvenile Stakes are also a part of the 11-race closing night program.

Trials for the Texas Classic Futurity will be held on Saturday, October 19, and for the Texas Classic Derby on Friday, October 18. The final fields will be determined by the 10 fastest times of these trials.

Three stakes have been carded for Saturday, September 28. The main feature is the $75,000-guaranteed Refrigerator Handicap (G1) for three-year-olds & up at 440 yards. On the under card are the 4th running of the $30,000 Merial Distaff Challenge for fillies & mares, three-year-olds & up at 400 yards and the 4th running of the $30,000 Red Cell Distance Challenge for three-year-olds & up at 870 yards.

In addition to the Grade 1, Texas Classic Futurity and Derby, and the Grade 1, Refrigerator Handicap, the other Graded stakes races for American Quarter Horses during the meet are the $450,000-estimated Dash for Cash Futurity (G1) and the $150,000-estimated Dash for Cash Derby (G2) Both are scheduled for Saturday, October 5.

Trials for the Dash for Cash futurity will be held Saturday, September 21 and trials for the Dash for Cash Derby will be Friday, September 20. The fields will also be determined by the 10 fastest times.

In addition to the Quarter Horse stakes events, there are stakes races scheduled for Paint & Appaloosa horses as well as for Arabian horses. The $50,000 added, Lone Star Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity (G1) will take place on Saturday, November 2, and the two divisions of the $20,000 guaranteed, Arabian Stallion Stakes (G3) will be held on Friday, October 25.
