Reserved Seating for Lone Star Park's
Thoroughbred Season On Sale Monday, March 14 Reserved seating
for Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie's Spring Thoroughbred Season goes
on sale Monday, March 14, at 8:30 a.m. CT. The ninth annual 15-week meeting
will begin Thursday, April 14 and continue for 67 days through Sunday,
July 17.
Patrons can reserve their favorite seating plans in person at Lone Star
Park's East Gate Will Call, by calling (972) 263-PONY or (800) 795-RACE
or visiting lonestarpark.com. Ticket phone lines - accepting credit card
orders only - will be open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT. The East
Gate Will Call will open early at 8:30 a.m. CT Monday for advance orders.
There are plenty of daily reserved seating options on the Terrace Level
(Grandstand's second level), Silks Dining Terraces (Grandstand's fourth
level), Grandstand Apron (outdoors) and inside the Post Time Pavilion,
the racetrack's simulcast facility. Private box seating and tables in
the Silks Dining Terraces are traditionally areas in high demand.
The cost of each reserved seat - ranging from $6 to $25 per person, includes
admission. There are also options for groups of 20 or more, including
private penthouse suites starting at $1,995, by calling (972) 237-1197.
"Big Event Days" have separate pricing plans. Those days are
Kentucky Derby Day (Saturday, May 7), Lone Star Derby Day (Saturday, May
14), Lone Star Million Day (Memorial Day, Monday, May 30), Lone Stars
and Stripes Fireworks Celebration (Sunday, July 3) and a simulcast of
the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships from Belmont Park (Saturday,
Oct. 29) during the 33-date Fall Meeting of Champions for American Quarter
Horses that runs Sept. 30-Nov. 27.
Other Spring Thoroughbred Season highlights include a post-race concert
by the Charlie Daniels Band (Saturday, April 16), Texas Mile Day/Dollar
Day (Saturday, April 30), Preakness Stakes Day (Saturday, May 21), Belmont
Stakes Day (Saturday, June 11), Dallas Turf Cup Day (Saturday, June 18),
Stars of Texas Day (Saturday, July 9) and Fan Appreciation Day (Saturday,
July 16).
Racing will be conducted Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights at 6:35
p.m. CT. (except June 1, June 2, July 6 and July 7). Weekend and holiday
action will begin at 1:35 p.m. CT. A special 5 p.m. twilight program featuring
post-race fireworks will be held July 3. During the Fall Meeting of Champions,
racing will be staged Wednesday through Saturday at 6:35 p.m. with a special
5 p.m. twilight program on Oct. 29 (Breeders' Cup Day) and 1:35 p.m. matinee
on Sunday, Nov. 27 (there will be no racing on Nov. 23 and Nov. 24).
General admission to Lone Star Park is $3 and clubhouse admission (second
and fourth floors of the Grandstand) is $6. Those opting not to purchase
a reserved seat can vie for the outdoor Grandstand Apron Boxes or patio
tables in the Courtyard of Champions on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Children age three and under are admitted free.
