"Jockey & Java" Free Breakfast and Horse
Workout Program Premieres on May 29 at LSP (Grand Prairie,
Texas - Friday, May 21, 2010) - Watch hundreds of horses as they
go through their morning workouts and enjoy a delicious, free breakfast
of Chef Jake’s breakfast burritos, danish, coffee and juice in the
Courtyard of Champions at Lone Star Park. The new "Jockey & Java"
program will take place on the following Saturday mornings: May 29, June
5, 12, 19, 26 and July 17.
Learn about what happens behind the scenes at Lone Star Park with Track
Announcer John Lies, who will host the morning workouts and talk with
special guests, including jockeys, trainers and some of the people that
have the most important jobs at the racetrack. Among Lies guests for the
opening program on Saturday, May 29 at 8:30 a.m. will be world-reknown
jockey Aaron Gryder, who is riding his first meet at Lone Star Park this
year, and award-winning Fort Worth Star-Telegram racing writer
Gary West.
Following the workouts, fans are invited to take a behind-the-scenes
trip to the backstretch to visit a trainer’s barn and see the horses
up close.
Everyone in attendance will receive a Lone Star TrackPack with coupons
for free general admission and a Lone Star Today racing program for live
racing.
Breakfast will be in the Courtyard of Champions from 8:30 until 10:00
a.m., and backstretch tours will be from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
