Lone Star Park 2009 Spring Thoroughbred Meet Reserved Seats and Concert VIP Packages Go on Sale this Monday, March 9

Reserved seating for Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie’s upcoming Spring Thoroughbred Season will go on sale Monday (March 9) at 8:30 a.m. The track’s 65-date Spring Thoroughbred Season will kick off 16 weeks of live horse racing on Thursday, April 9.

Customers can reserve seats online at LoneStarPark.com, by calling (972) 263-PONY (7669) for credit card orders only, or in person at Lone Star Park’s East Gate Will Call on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Reserved seating options range from $8 to $27 per person (includes admission).

Every Thursday of the Spring Thoroughbred Meet, except Opening Night (April 9), will be "Half-Price Thursday" with homestretch box seats sold at a 50-percent discount, $8.50. In addition, all counter seating (four seat minimum) for every day of the meet, except "Big Event Days" and Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 10), has been reduced from $13 to $9. Half-priced box seats and discounted counter seats are available on line only at LoneStarPark.com for as long as they remain available.

"Lone Star Park has always been one of the best entertainment values in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area," said Lone Star Park President Drew Shubeck. "But with the current state of our national and local economies, we decided to provide additional value to our loyal customers with half-priced box seats on Thursdays and discounted, reserved counter seating on most days during the 2009 Spring Thoroughbred meet."

The Spring Thoroughbred Season will also feature the 2009 Lone Star Music Series at Lone Star Park with post-race concerts by the Randy Rogers Band (Friday, April 10), The Beach Boys (Saturday, April 11), Stoney LaRue (Friday, May 1), Gary Allan (Friday, May 22), Cross Canadian Ragweed (Saturday, June 6) and the Eli Young Band (Friday, July 24).

Special VIP concert packages for the Beach Boys on April 11 and Gary Allan on May 22 will be available on line only at LoneStarPark.com. Priced at $62 or $72 with valet parking (plus tax and handling), these packages include admission, racing program, reserved seats with buffet and two free beer tickets in the Post Time Pavilion Garden and admittance to the special VIP section in front of the stage for the concerts.

"Big Event Days" have separate pricing plans. Those days are -- Kentucky Derby Day (Saturday, May 2), Lone Star Derby Day (Saturday, May 9), Preakness Stakes Day (Saturday, May 16), Lone Star Million Day (Memorial Day, Monday, May 25), Belmont Stakes Day (Saturday, June 6), and Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebrations (Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4).

In addition to the "Big Event Days" during the Spring Thoroughbred Season, Lone Star Park will host the simulcast of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships from Santa Anita Park (Saturday, Nov. 6) during the 31-date Fall Meeting of Champions for American Quarter Horses that runs Sept. 25-Nov. 28.

Other major promotional dates include – Family Fun Day with Dora the Explorer on Easter Sunday, April 12; Lone Star Million Preview Day featuring the Texas Mile/Grand Prairie Centennial Celebration/Dollar Day (Saturday, April 25); Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 10); Father’s Day (Sunday, June 14); Stars of Texas Day/Dollar Day (Saturday, July 11); Fan Appreciation Day (Saturday, July 25); and Closing Day (Sunday, July 26).

Lone Star Park’s 2009 Spring Thoroughbred Season will run four days a week every Thursday and Friday at 6:35 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 1:35 p.m. starting on April 9. The Lone Star Million program on Memorial Day will start at 1:35 p.m. and special twilight programs with post-race holiday fireworks on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 (Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration) will commence at 5 p.m. (All times are Central Time).
