Lone Star Park Institutes Special Shipping
Requirements Effective Immediately (Grand Prairie, Texas
- February 26, 2010) - Lone Star Park has instituted special shipping
requirements that are effective immediately. Horses originating from any
premise under quarantine for Equine Piroplasmosis or from any part of
Kleburg County or adjacent counties (Nueces, Jim Wells, Brooks and Kenedy)
not under quarantine shall not enter Lone Star Park.
The trainer and driver of a horse entering the LSP stable area will have
to sign a statement attesting that, "The horse(s) arriving today
do not originate from any premise under quarantine for Equine Piroplasmosis.
The horse(s) also are not entering from any part of Kleburg County or
adjacent counties (Nueces, Jim Wells, Brooks and Kenedy)." To download
a copy of the form to print, click here.
Though not required at this time, Lone Star Park recommends that all
horses shipping in regardless of origin be inspected by a veterinarian
for ticks upon arrival.
We do expect that these policies could change in the near future so
please check the overnight and horsemen's information section of our web
site - www.lonestarpark.com
for updates.
Horsemen should continue to contact the racing office at LSP before shipping
horses in case the policy changes in any way. The racing offce can be
reached by phone at (888) 4RACING or (972) 237-1130 or by e-mail at racing@lonestarpark.com.
