LOPE Silent Auction Now Open Online
The LOPE silent auction for Texas Champions Day is currently
open online for bidding through Friday, November 18 at midnight. The silent
auction then culminates for final live bidding on Saturday, November 19
during Texas Champions Day at Sam Houston Race Park between 6:00 - 9:00
p.m. All proceeds directly support LOPE Texas.
You may bid online until Friday, November 18 at midnight. If you wish
to place a final bid on Saturday November 19, you or someone acting as
your agent must place that bid in person at Sam Houston during the live
auction hours.
The theme of the auction is Texas Champions, and there are 20 great items
to bid on including:
- Lightening Ball, a 9-y.o. Texas Thoroughbred, retiring after winning
$300K
- Seven stallion seasons to premiere Texas sires
- Private tour and wine tasting for 25 people at exclusive Texas winery
- One month dressage/English training for horse and rider
- One month board or layup at top notch new facility near Dallas
Lightening Ball, as well as the other silent auction items, will be on
display at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday, November 19.

LOPE Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit devoted to providing new careers
for retiring ex-racehorses of all breeds in Texas. It does this through
its online services and its ranch adoption center near Austin. Since 2003,
LOPE has transitioned 350 Texas ex-racehorses into new homes.
