Fasig-Tipton Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale at Lone Star Park
A total of 315 two-year-old Thoroughbreds have been catalogued for the
Fasig-Tipton Texas Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale, scheduled for Tuesday,
April 4 at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. The catalogue is 19.3-percent
larger than last year's 264 horses.
"We had a lot of stakes horses from last year's sale get out there
and make money for their buyers. Look at the cover of the catalogue,"
said Fasig-Tipton Texas director of sales Tim Boyce, referring to Premier
Dance, a $45,000 purchase who had won six of 10 starts and $246,880, including
five straight Southwest stakes events. "I think this year's crop
can be expected to make a quick return for their investors as well."
Several juveniles to be offered this year are offspring of new sires
such as Include, Johannesburg, Officer, Pure Prize, Storm Day, Three Wonders
and Yonaguska. There also is progeny of leading older sires such as Broken
Vow, Carson City, Cherokee Run, Dixie Union, Five Star Day, Grand Slam,
Horse Chestnut, Indian Charlie, Maria's Mon, More Than Ready, Smart Strike,
Smoke Glacken and Trippi.
Leading Southwest sires represented include Festival of Light, Gold Legend,
Leestown, Littlebitlively, Magic Cat, Malagra, New Way, Open Forum, Time
Bandit and Texas' perennial kingpin Valid Expectations.

Sales Pavilion located just inside the stable area. An under-tack preview
show, featuring workouts of horses in the sale, is scheduled for Sunday,
