Board of Directors Election Winners Announced
The Texas Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association
(THBPA) and the Texas Thoroughbred HBPA, Inc. (TTHBPA) have concluded
their elections for open seats on their boards of directors and certified
the results. Those results are as follows.
Members of the THBPA, which represents the interests of Quarter Horse
and Paint Horse owners and trainers, re-elected Connie Nobles and Jerry
Windham to the owner’s representative positions, and John Buchanan
was elected to serve in the trainer’s position. All of these positions
carry a three-year term.
The first meeting of the new THBPA board has been scheduled for January
27, at which time the new board members will be installed and officers
will be elected.
The membership of the TTHBPA, Inc, which the organization that represents
Thoroughbreds and Arabian horse interests, re-elected Terry Blanton as
one of their owner representatives and Lane Hutchins to the other owner’s
position. Danny Pish was re-elected to his position on the board as a
trainer’s representative. Like the THBPA, these positions all carry
a three-year term.
The TTHBPA board held a board meeting on January 6. The board re-elected
Larry Christopher to the position president, returned Terry Blanton to
the vice president post, and reappointed David E. Arnold as the organization’s
secretary.
The directors of both organizations wish to thank all of the members
that voted in this year’s election.
