Board of Directors Election Winners Announced

The Texas Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (THBPA) and the Texas Thoroughbred HBPA, Inc. (TTHBPA) have concluded their elections for open seats on their boards of directors and certified the results. Those results are as follows.

Members of the THBPA, which represents the interests of Quarter Horse and Paint Horse owners and trainers, re-elected Connie Nobles and Jerry Windham to the owner’s representative positions, and John Buchanan was elected to serve in the trainer’s position. All of these positions carry a three-year term.

The first meeting of the new THBPA board has been scheduled for January 27, at which time the new board members will be installed and officers will be elected.

The membership of the TTHBPA, Inc, which the organization that represents Thoroughbreds and Arabian horse interests, re-elected Terry Blanton as one of their owner representatives and Lane Hutchins to the other owner’s position. Danny Pish was re-elected to his position on the board as a trainer’s representative. Like the THBPA, these positions all carry a three-year term.

The TTHBPA board held a board meeting on January 6. The board re-elected Larry Christopher to the position president, returned Terry Blanton to the vice president post, and reappointed David E. Arnold as the organization’s secretary.

The directors of both organizations wish to thank all of the members that voted in this year’s election.
